Flow State: Cannabis, Coffee and Exercise

Updated: Dec 17, 2019

You are wondering what is “Flow State?” Flow State was discovered in the 1970s where people can get to a state of focus while working on a project or a fitness goal where performance flows out like a river.

The psychologist Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi wrote in his book “Flow: The Psychology of Optimal Experience,” attempting to achieve the ‘Flow State’. As per the Flow Research Collective, the combination of Cannabis + Coffee + Exercise could lead to the Flow State so many are looking to achieve.

Chris Taylor from Mashable describes a trip with champion extreme skiers on top of a mountain early in the morning with sub-zero temps getting high also known as pre-gaming which occurs on the highest level of pro sports.

This is a new type of performance-enhancing formula of chemicals labeled as the ‘hippie speedball’. The Flow State is made of brain chemicals “endorphins, anandamide, dopamine, and serotonin.” The ‘Hippie Speedball’ of cannabis, coffee, and exercise creates the same production of chemicals. Taylor also maps out a set of instructions to use these items to create the perfect performance.

  • Step 1: Exercise for a minimum 20 minutes, to get the endorphins pumping until your mind is cleared of any thoughts or stressors.

  • Step 2: Drink half a cup of coffee.

  • Step 3: Smoke or vape a Sativa Dominant strain of cannabis leading to the perfect ‘Flow State.’

Many authors have written bestsellers stoned such as Steven Kotler who has written nine of them while stoned. The key to any formula is moderation. The cannabis part of the formula should be done through microdosing vs being overly stoned.

Kotler talks about a combination of burpees, coffee and ganja increasing creativity by 500%.

Comment below to let us know how well this combination works for you of course where it is legal.
