Medical cannabis program to assist dogs that struggle with epilepsy and patients that suffer from Attention Deficit Disorder in New Mexico. The Medical Cannabis Advisory Board received five new petitions seeking for additional qualifying medical conditions in the state’s medical-marijuana program.
A unique petition in veterinary medicine cites studies for the use of cannabis for animals struggling with seizures. A Youtube video of an epileptic dog was illustrated in the suffering of animals with this condition. Cannabidiol (CBD) is commonly used in pet treats made from hemp.
California and New York began to allow veterinarians for the recommendation of medical cannabis for pets. No other state provides that direction for animals.
Veterinarians would have an enhanced treatment tool for animals.
